Account information

By creating or modifying your account, you provide us with personal information such as your name, age, place of residence and email address. Your full name is publicly available, along with your place of residence, country and your gift lists, unless you use private lists - in this case, they will be only accesible by those you have accepted as 'friends'.

Other information

You may provide us with more information that will be made public, for example your comments on products, your picture or avatar, and your date of birth. By default, the information you cannot set as 'private' ( like using private lists ) will be public. We may use this information to inform the content that we show you, for example finding people you may know, tailoring adverts to you based on your search history, or showing your profile to other people that may know you. Also, you can add your contact list so that the page will search for people you may know. You can delete contacts from your list at any time. If you send us an email, we can store your email address and contact information in order to reply to you.

If you connect an account you hold with another service to our services, the other service may share your profile information with us, and any other information you agree to being shared, in order to make it easier for you to register with us. Child protection

You can contact us through our contact page if you suspect or know your child has provided us with personal information, and we will delete the account and their information.

As a registered user, you have access to your personal information in your Edit Profile page, and you can modify the information you have provided us with. You can also delete your account by sending an email to [email protected] from the email address you registered with on our site.

Parts of your information may relate to your friends' accounts, such as comments on gifts that belong to collective lists. That information will be maintained until the list expires, or when it is removed by the group administrator.

When you delete your account, your data is no longer publicly available online, but Babelgift is obliged to maintain records for a certain amount of time for legal reasons, as it may be judicially required. It is also possible that some of your information may be in our backup files (which are saved for information recovery purposes, in case of malfunction of the page or other issues) until these files expire and the data is permanently deleted.
